He CAN Talk!
它会说话!
One day a man walked into an auction house. Whilethere, he bid on a parrot.
一个人走进拍卖公司。他在那儿竞拍一只鹦鹉。
He really wanted this bird, so he got caught up inthe bidding.
他特别想要这只鹦鹉，所以他不断地出价。
He kept on bidding, but kept getting outbid, so he bid higher and higher and higher.
他不断地出价，但总有人出价比他高，所以他的出价就越来越高。
Finally, after he bid way more than he intended, he won the bid-the parrot was his at last!
最后，他的出价已经超出了预算。但是他竞拍成功——鹦鹉是他的了。
As he was paying for the parrot, he said to the auctioneer, "I sure hope this parrot can talk. Iwould hate to have paid this much for it, only to find out that he can't talk!"
付钱时，他问拍卖师：“我希望这只鹦鹉会说话。我可不想花了这么多钱，换回一只不会说话的!”
"Don't worry," said the auctioneer. "He can talk. Who do you think kept bidding against you?"
“不用担心，”拍卖师说，“它会说话。你以为和你竞买的是谁?”
